Subject: Interfaith Seminar in Support of the UN World Interfaith Harmony Week
Dear Sir/Madam,
This age of globalization needs enlightened people that can help benefit all humanity. Our challenge is to encourage understanding, respect, and cooperation among people of all faiths for the well-being of our communities and peace in the world.
The first week of February every year was designated World Interfaith Harmony Week by an October 20, 2010 resolution of the United Nations General Assembly. The President of the 66th Session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, said “In our conflict-ridden world, I believe it is important to recognize the historical good done by people in various parts of the world.”
In response to the call by the UN to observe the UN World Interfaith Harmony Week in every nation, Universitas Kristen Indonesia (UKI), the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) and Gerakan Fajar Nusantara (Gafatar) will convene an Interfaith Seminar on 10 February 2012 on the theme “Interfaith Harmony & Global Cooperation: Exploring Local Wisdom for Building Peace.” Please see enclosed program for details.
Date: Friday, 10 February 2012
Time: 8.30 am – 3.00 pm
Venue: Seminar Hall, 3rd Floor, Faculty of Economics, UKI, Cawang Campus,
Jl. Mayjen Sutoyo No. 2, Cawang, Jakarta 13630

Ursula McLackland
